Tell more about you and about your entry in cables "game"
As an audiophile, I continue to explore for top-notch components, cables, and music artists that will increase my listening pleasure. When I mean top-notch, it doesnt means it has to be extremely expensive. Just say, "I am on an endless journal to music nirvana."
The history of your involvement in hifi industry and research
Ive always enjoyed building things with my hands ever since I can remember, DIYing is a hobby I enjoy doing in my free time. It started with making minor tweaks to speakers and audio compoments, to building cables from wires and connectors found at the local hardware store.
I always wanted to try cables from the larger well known companies to see what all the commotion is all about but the price was out of my reach. One day I stumble upon the website of Jon Risch, from this website, I was able to get step by step directions on building my own interconnects and speaker cables that was on par with high end cables that I couldn't afford to buy. I was very excited and order the parts to assemble these cables. I was extremely impressed with the results and the difference the newly built cables made in my system, over a short period of time, I have replaced all of the cables in my system with cables built by myself. I borrowed high-end cables from audiophile friends and dealers to compare to the cables made by myself, to my surprise, the cables I made using Jon Risch recipe were as good as the high-end cables, and in some case better. After analyzing there very few companies that produce affordable cables for the audiophile community, I spent the next few years reading books and internet articles on different conductor type, dielectric materials, shielding, and cable geometries, etc. Ive tested many cables to decide on the products we currently offer. My goal is to offer a line of cables that were comparable to what is sold by high-end cable companies at a price the majority can afford.
More about the beginning of your Firm

My business partner and I started Element Cable since 2003 after analyzing there very few companies that produce affordable cables for the audiophile community. Our objective is to offer audiophile level cables using high quality proven parts at a price that the majority can afford. We stress the importance of high quality-crafted cables, good customer service, and the goal to make every customer satisfied with their orders.
Which is your opinion about Cable industry in general
Too many companies are selling snake oil and overly hyped cables. A pair of interconnects, speaker cables, or power cables costing over $2000 (USD), as an example, does not guarantee you to produce the best sounding. Cables are very dependent of the components and speakers setup and the type of music. Proven for their performance based on customer feedback, our cables have the best price-to-performance and the best return-on-investment you will make compare to other cable companies.
The "question" of cables prices and the understanding Cable Pricing
I understand each company has to turn a profit base on their capacity; hence, profit keeps the company afloat. However, I noticed there are many companies that are absurdly marking up their cables. I couldnt believe myself seeing some cables are costing more than some of components and speakers. With Element Cable, our prices are down to earth.
Snake oil and cables manifacturing
My advice for audiophiles when shopping for cables is to buy a cable with solid design, high quality dielectric, good conductors, and adequate shielding. Avoid what doesnt make sense.
The future of hifi cables industry and the future of your firm
I am not sure where the hifi cables industry is heading but I can tell you that the home theater market is definately heating up. We are in a phase of researching and testing of the digital video cables such as DVI and HDMI. We should have these available in the summer. With a couple of years in the HiFi cable market, we are also in the starting to come up with our own cable designs. We will be introducing our next series, Signature and Signature Select, this Fall of 2005. The Signature and Signature Select will be catered to dealers and distributors.
